Original report (as submitted)
This i think is a common problem on slip roads onto a motorway and a very annoying one as I will describe. I was driving in the middle lane of the M1 motorway heading south to take my exit to the M42 slip road at J24. A red fiesta indicating to pull on to the motorway from the slip road at this point, did so behind a large goods vechicle and a line of slowing traffic. The Female driver in the above fiat ( in my opinon )made the approach to the motorway far to quickly and was on top of the fiestas back bumper indicating right and braking hard on to the motorway. With this swooping manoeuvre made, the female driver still not happy with her lane choice indicated right and swiftly pulled into the middle lane causing me to brake suddenly. My responce was to Sound my horn and Flash my lights repeatedly, she casually adjusted her mirror so my full beam could not be seen and sped off now in the third lane. --- Context --- Type: Cut Me Up Location: Derbyshire Vehicle: Fiat Registration: RC03 GFO Date reported: 2025-07-03 --- Safety takeaway --- Keep a buffer around lane merges and avoid reacting aggressively.
