On Monday 24th June at around 4.30pm I was driving along the A624 heading towards Glossop from Chapel en-le-Frith when I noticed a silver van was driving very closely behind me. He remained behind me for a couple of miles and, as we approached Little Hayfield he overtook me, then as a car was approaching he had to brake very sharply and pull in directly in front of me causing me to have to brake suddenly. The van then proceeded to tailgate the car in front for several miles before over taking him as we entered the 30mph zone at Little Hayfield. Leaving Little Hayfield he then tailgated another car, before overtaking that on an uphill bend and causing an oncoming car to have to brake to avoid this pointless and stupid manoeuvre. I was especially shaken up by what I considered to be dangerous driving as just a few miles earlier on the A515 near Pilsbury I had passed what appeared to be the aftermath of a fatal collision. The Van was all liveried up with the logo of a forklift form called "DAC-HANDLING" (www.dac-handling.co.uk) I emailed them to complain about their driver, but as of yet they ve not bothered to reply. -------------------------------------------------- UPDATE. I recieved the following email on the 28th June. Dear Sir Thank for your e-mail, re the driving of one of our employees on Monday 24th Junearound 4.30 along the A624. We take a serious view of such a complaint, and were on Wednesday 26th having two separate staff training sessions, your e- mail was used in these meetings to demonstrate how not to drive, and advise that such disregard for other road users would not be tolerated by DAC. Our engineers are service based and therefore heavy users of the road, we pride ourselves in employing competent people with a good driving record. The gentleman driving this vehicle has been disciplined, and has apologised for any offence he has caused. He is aware of the seriousness of this complaint. I hope you are satisfied with the way we have responded to your complaint, and would ourselves like to apologise on behalf of DAC and thank you for the time taken to bring this to our attention.
