Bad Driving
Date:
27 August 2010
Time:
8:30
Make & Model:
nothing selected Van
Colour:
White
Reg:
County:
Nottinghamshire
What happened:
I was in the outside lane approaching the city centre when after traffic lights the two lanes merged into one. I was not fully in front but mostly ahead of the white van (an aerial fitting company) who refused to let me merge in and glued himself to the bumper in front. I could not slow to go behind him as there was a motorbike behind me accelerating to get past. Finally, he allowed me in. Now I agree the rights and wrongs of this maneouvre could be argued until the cows come home but what happened after that was outrageous. Clearly, I had antagonised him as he then tailgated me. I just wanted to have as much space between us as possible. The road split again into two lanes and I used the outside lane to overtake the vehicles in front of me to create lots of space (perfectly legally and the road markings indicate this). The white van decided to chase me and kept in behind me. I then decided it would be best to let him be in front of me and allow him to make lots of space between us and I kept to the inside lane and allowed lots of vehicles to pass. The van insisted on being in front of me and swerved across lanes on many occassions, slamming on brakes. I created lots of space between us and other vehicles filled the gap. He slowed even more and the vehicles overtook him. We were queueing for traffic lights etc and he shouted various obscenities at me out of the window. He continued with this swerving/slamming of brakes until I had had enough - he was going to cause an accident!!!!! I turned off and took a "scenic" route for my journey. This gentleman was representing his company (it was a company van) and therefore a professional driver. He shouted obscenities and drove dangerously - not a good advert for his company

What happened:
On A6 dual carriageway between Wilstead/Wixams roundabout and A6/A421 roundabout. Driver completely oblivious or just plain stupid decides to over take a lorry on a roundabout ignoring the fact that I'm occupying the space he wants to move into forcing me to brake hard and get out of his way. He then pulls back infront of the lorry but purposefully speeds up and slows down impede my attempts to either pass him or pull behind him and in front of the same lorry he just overtook. We all dislike Monday mornings, please don't make it anymore unpleasant than it already is. *Sigh*

What happened:
Impatient driver stuck in the queue for the A5/A4146 roundabout - there are always queues for this busy intersection. As it's a dual caridgeway there was 2 queues and as the left hand queue (for left and straight on) was moving microscopically faster he forced himself in front of me, (whilst his passenger dumped their rubbish out the window). However as he needed to go right down the A4146 he had to then force himself back into the right lane only moments later :|

What happened:
This lunatic was an angry driver who tried to push me off the motorway by trying to squeeze between two cars in adjacent lanes!

I pulled from the middle lane into the fast lane to overtake, and the driver of the blue golf came up behind me in the fast lane wanting to get by. Annoyed by the fact that I had pulled in front he first tail-gated me (leaving an inch or less - I couldn't see the top of his bonnet and wipers in my rear-view mirror he was so close up) and then he swerved back, undertaking the car to my left in the middle lane, and pulled up alongside me to make rude gestures. Finally, as I overtook the car in the middle lane, he aimed for the small gap between us and forced me into the central reservation, and to brake hard before hitting the barrier!!!

Very dangerous driver, and will be reported to the police and DVLA.
